Tables

The plumbing tables list pipe sizes for domestic water and drainage. Insulation, bracket spacing and fire-stopping sizes of the stored materials sit with them. The figures are planning aids and do not replace the peak-flow or discharge calculation.

How it's calculated

The plumbing tables list pipe sizes, insulation, bracket spacing and fire stopping for domestic water and drainage. The sizes are the stored catalogue values for copper, stainless steel, composite, PP-R, plastic waste pipe and cast iron. Insulation thickness follows the same steps as for heating. Nothing is calculated here: peak flow and discharge stay in their own calculators. The operating roughness of drainage is not in the table; it is in the drainage calculation.

Worked example

Copper tube of 22 mm outside follows the domestic-water series. The energy-act step for a 16 mm bore would be 20 mm. A cast-iron DN 100 pipe is 110 mm outside and fits the shell with a bore of 180 mm.

FAQ

Does the table replace DIN 1988-300?
No. It shows sizes. Peak flow is calculated in the domestic-water tool.
Which roughness applies to HT pipe?
The catalogue value is 0.1 mm. Part-fill sizing uses kb = 1.0 mm, shown in the drainage calculator.
Is PP-R the same series for heating and domestic water?
The table uses the stored SDR 6 series. The manufacturer's pressure class and temperature limit still have to be checked.
Where is the stack table?
Not here. The drainage calculator shows the Qmax values of Table 11 when the section is a stack.
